Love What You Do – Part 2

I’m not sure I’ve quite settled into my new normal yet, but I’m getting there! I started a new job. It’s very different from life in an office, but fun and exciting and quite frankly, exhausting!

My first job in high school was as a cook in a greasy spoon and the new job is the same type of work, though on a much larger scale! My first shift at Neighborhood Cafe’s new Waldo location was 10 hours long and I was on my feet the whole time. The time flew by, it was fun and it was SO MUCH better than being at a desk in an office!

I am now clocked in by 6 or 7 am, 4 days a week, sometimes working 9-10 hour shifts. I’m working weekends, and there was a pay cut. My Words with Friends opponents are feeling neglected, my feet are sore and some days I’m completely wiped out at the end of a shift. At the end of the day, though, I feel like I actually did something worthwhile.
